Vintage A4 LO with Modern Feel

This A4 layout has a vintage (not sure my mam will want to know I've described her photo as vintage!) photograph but a modern feel. I never work in A4 but decided to try it and see what I thought. I have concluded that I find this size a bit restricting if you want to use more than one photograph (6" x 4") but it is great if you want to frame your layout as A4 frames are easier to find than 12 x 12 or if you have smaller photographs.
I used modern colours mixed with muted as well as printed acetate and it worked well for me, however I won't be in a hurry to swap from 12 x 12 to A4 but it was an interesting experiment.

3D Scrapbook Layout

Below is a pictorial step by step guide to the 12" x 12" 3D layout above, any questions please ask.
Masks and stencils make great backgrounds.
Layer different textures of ribbon and lace to add interest and give dimension.
The card above is actually red!

Emy Buxton Layout

I just had to post this layout by Emy Buxton that was featured in Scrap365 this month. I simply adore it, it is such a simple idea but very effective and very pretty. Unfortunately there isnt a blog address shown for Emy which is a shame as I should imagine she has some wonderful creations and she has certainly inspired me to have a go at a layout like this.

Scrap365 May Sketch Challenge

If you haven't yet discovered Scrap365 Magazine then I recommend you try and get a look at a copy. It offers a very refreshing change from what has previously been available, more info is available here

May sees the start of a new blog challenge using the sketch below by Morag Cutts (full details here)
I decided to give this challenge a go, below is my interpretation of the above sketch. The photographs show my niece playing 'hairdressers' with me as her model, not sure the pigtails are quite me though!
To make this layout I used: Dylusions Sprays, Distress Ink pads, bubble wrap, Sizzix Framelits die set with stamps (Butterfly #3 - 657773), Sizzix decorative strip die (Washer Border - 657826), copic pens, Natural Hemp, 2 book pages, Bazzill card stock, manilla tag.
