Steam Punked Journal

This is the first page of Dylusions journal. The background I made using a Gelli Plate and then I zendoodled falling strands to add a bit more interest.
The female image is from a Steam Punk colouring book I found on Amazon (warning these adult colouring books are very contagious!) My colouring skills unfortunately leave a lot to be desired but I used Copics in my attempt to make a good job!
I added Kaiser Craft rub ons for the woman to 'sit on' and added a flower at the corner.

Art Journal Page

This is a double page in my art journal. I used the pages I had made on an Andy Skinner Gelli Plate workshop for the background pieces and added quotes from artists that I had collected. I enjoyed pulling all different bits together to make a united piece of work and decided that a journal was a good way to keep all the bits in one place as I am very good at filing things in 'safe places' and then not remembering where I put them!

May Challenge - The Craft Garden

Full challenge details can be found Here

This is a page from my art journal. I made the background using a Gelli Plate and DecoArt paints. I used Zentangle patterns to create the falling strands and the wording are rub-ons from Kaisercraft. I added a border of a reptile skin affect tape by 7 Gypsies and a flower to finish the page.

Zentangle Scrap Layout

My Latest Zentangle layout is in issue 71 of Scrapbook Magazine.
Although traditionally Zentangle is black and white I decided to use green and purple for this beach themed layout.

Goodies on the way

I am off to the 'Stitches' trade show over the weekend to find some lovely new goodies for the year ahead, I can't wait to see what I can find. While I am there I will be attending 6 workshops run by manufacturers so will hopefully pick up some new tips and ideas which I can pass on to you!

Zentangle Scrap Layout

This is another piece of Zentangle I have produced, this time in a scrapbook format (12 x 12). It has been published in the latest edition of Scrapbook Magazine. I used purple and green pen through out and the embellsihments are raised on foam pads as is the fish tail.
The photograph is of a friends two children take back in 2000 (they will probably be horrified to see themselves on here now!)
Hope you like it!

Zentangle Journal Page

My Zentangle journey continues with this pencil journal page. I didnt plan this page but I knew I wanted it to contain words that seemed to move. I was really pleased with the result.

January Craft Garden Challenge

A very simple challenge for you this month - January's birthstone is the garnet and all you are challenged to do is make a project that is at least 50% RED (or shades thereof).

If you would like to join in details can be found HERE

For Christmas I received several books about the technique of Zentangle. Although traditionally a black pen on white card is used, I discovered that there is some beautiful work using colours and so I decided to  make a card using Zentangle and to use red on white which fits in perfectly with this months challenge.
Below are my practise pieces which I did in my journal, the background has been made using Pan Pastels which is a perfect surface to draw on.
