Owl Plate result & Heart Pin Dish

Finished results from last weeks class

So this week at Glazed Creations we looked at the art of Sgraffito. Sgraffito is a form of decoration made by scratching through a surface to reveal a lower layer of a contrasting colour, typically done in plaster or stucco on walls, or in slip on ceramics before firing.
Below are the steps we took to complete this weeks project.
We started with a bisque heart pin dish.
Gave it 3 coats of white foundation glaze.
Chose a design.
Painted the dish with 2 coats of stroke and coat glaze.
The began to etch out the design.
Using a dry paint brush and fine embossing 
tool complete etching out the design.
