Interesting Results

I would love a dog as many of you know but our circumstances at the moment don't allow it, however I decided to do a bit of research on what type of dog would best suit our needs and these are the top ten  results:
100%   Mutt
74%     French Bulldog
74%     Toy Poodle
73%     Bichon Frise
73%     Border Terrier
73%     Miniture Poodle
73%     Standard Poodle
73%     Whippet
71%     Beagle
70%     Italian Greyhound

  2. In my extensive experience:
Poodles are the smartest on that list (and I know several that are humans in fur form, and not yappy at all).
The only Bichon Frise I've known were very friendly and outgoing.
Most terriers I have met of every flavor tend toward the neurotic, especially as they age. They are smart, and high-energy, and need to be challenged and physical active most of the time.
Whippets are like cats- smart, fastidious, loving but independent. Also, obviously, fast but get cold very easily (same with Italian greyhounds).
And the beagles I have known had extensive health problems once they hit 10 years, as a product of the breed.

I don't know if that helps at all...the biggest thing is to buy from a breeder you trust (who is willing to show you their breed area/home/puppies before purchase, and can send you the contact info of former clients who can vouch for them). Also, Petfinder.com is a good resource. :)
    Good luck!

  3. We don't have a dog right now, but my family have had many over the years. Mutts were always the best!! I don't know why. Maybe it was because they knew how valuable it was to be loved, considering their 'rascally' life! LOL Or maybe it was because they saw those pure breds getting picked first so many times that when they finally got picked they wanted to love us to death in return!! ^_^
