Wardrobe Door Challenge!

Americana Decor Chalky Finish paint is an ultra-matte chalk paint that requires no priming or sanding before using. There are 29 intermixable colours available and it comes in 4 sizes - 2oz, 4oz, 8oz and 16oz. An 8oz jar covers approximately 60 square feet on sealed surfaces.
Mark Gould has a blog dedicated to projects using Americana Decor Chalky Finish paint and can give you all the information you need to complete your project.

So onto my challenge! We have a huge decorating project happening at home which basically means we are decorating 3 bedrooms, one craft room, one bathroom (ripping out everything completely and starting again) and then finally the hall, landing and stairs!

We are on bedroom two which has a built in wardrobe with floor to ceiling wooden doors. I was given the task of revamping them and decided to use Americana Decor Chalky paint. I have to say this was the easiest paint project I have ever had. The fact I didn't need to prep the wood was a huge advantage, I did however wash the doors with a sugar soap solution as they were a little dusty!
 This was the starting point.
 After one coat.

 Finished result!
I am so pleased with the end result as they have made a huge difference to the feel of the room. I am now eyeing up other pieces of furniture around the house so watch this space!

  2. That is great, I am just in the process of painting our son's room and was looking at the sad, now yellowing pine doors and wondering what to do with them!
