I can't believe no one answered your question... and I've been wondering if readers outside of the US had any clue what this was all about!
Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving and is considered the biggest shopping day of the year. It is called Black Friday because, in the past, it is traditionally the first day of the year in which retailers have gone out of the red and into the black in terms of profitibility as the official holiday season begins! Now, with the proliferation of the Internet, the Monday after Thanksgiving is known as Cyber Monday. That's why, if you follow a lot of US-based blogs this weekend, you will find a lot of chat about shopping, sales, coupons, and Black Friday specials galore, lol!
