Sharing some Love

I have been so busy creating lately that blogging has been put on a back burner, so I thought it was about time I showed you what exactly I have been making!

I thought I would start with sharing some love, so below is a 6" x 6" mixed media canvas.
My next make is a mixed media tag.
Finally I have a mixed media ATC.
As you can see I have used lots of paint, crackle paste and lace. I hope there is something to inspire you in your next make.

Perfume?

I used a circular canvas for this mixed media piece of art. I made this after watching Finnabair's lesson on Wanderlust 2016.
I used a perfume bottle as my centre piece ( which when I used the last of the perfume I couldn't bare to throw it away even though I had no idea what I was going to do with it), lace and lots of metal embellishments. It is now sitting proudly in my craft room.

All Counties Craft Challenge

Many of you will know all about John Bloodworth and his All Counties Craft Challenge. Full details are available HERE.

I am delighted to say that John recently completed his challenge and handed over a cheque to Mind for £22,500!

I was lucky enough to get involved, organise and attend 2 workshops with him. The photos below show what we made, Glazed Creations were kind enough to allow us to use their studio free of charge for this wonderful challenge.

 Here is Rachel working hard!Our
Our wonderful group 'The Demented Cats'
We are called the Demented Cats as mental illness affects us all in some way either directly or through family and friends.
 Jazz hands!
 Our stunning canvases.
 My effort.
We presented John with a special travel mug we had made at Glazed Creations.

Remember 2 Live Your Dream

Back in May I was lucky enough to attend a workshop with Claudia Neubacher
The workshop was held at That Craft Place.
We used two mini canvas' and DecoArt products.
I used a Prima spark plug embellishment to represent my hubby who is a huge motor racing fan and flying related embellishments to represent our son who is a pilot.
It was a great day and it was truly lovely to meet Claudia.

Paula Pascual & Sizzix

I am lucky enough to have Paula Pascual following my blog so I thought it would be a good idea to have a direct link to her blog so that if you have any questions about Sizzix or if you want some new ideas you can hop over to her at the click of a button.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with Paula this is what she has to say about herself.
I am a freelance paper craft designer of products and projects. I specialised in Sizzix Die cutting a company for which I have done three collections and the new big Shot Starter Kit.
You can see all the products I have designed on my website HERE

I have met Paula a couple of times and not only is she a lovely person but also gorgeous as you can see from her photograph above!

Canvas work

I attended a workshop recently with Andy Skinner working with A4 self adhesive canvas and paints. The three photos below show the progress at various stages. I put the finished result into my journal where it has made a fabulous page.

Aladdin Sane Canvas

This is a 10" x 12" canvas featuring the David Bowie image of Aladdin Sane

To achieve the above affect I started by hand writing DB quotes onto the canvas using a POSCA pen. I used DecoArt Americana paint to cover the canvas and partly cover the quotes.

Using printable canvas I printed out the DB image twice and cut them out. One cutout I stuck onto the canvas and painted over it in a similar way to the rest of the background, depth was added by stamping and stenciling on the top.

I then added the second cutout but this time filling in the details of the lightening bolt and facial features.

I mixed Gelatos with Grunge Paste to give dimension to the hair and using a photograph replicated the hair adding additional colour where required.

Finally I added a bit more stenciling over the body of the second image.

Canvas Creation

I made this canvas using the DecoArt paint I won recently. The canvas is A4 in size. I used masks by Andy Skinner and Neil Walker, the leaf stamp is by Inkylicious and the bird stamp is by Neil Walker also. The tree is from Artemio and to give the bark effect I used modelling paste, the leaves are covered in gilding flakes. Finally I added copper wire to hang the canvas with.
